Foothills Performing Arts presents “Don’t Dress for Dinner” held over by popular demand for two performances.  Show dates are March 5 & 6, 2010.  Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8:00pm.

Foothills Performing Arts presents “Don’t Dress for Dinner” a frenetic case of mistaken identity with more twists than a corkscrew. When Jacqueline decides to visit her mother for a few days, her husband Bernard sees an opportunity for a cozy weekend with his new mistress. His bachelor pal Robert calls to announce his return from Hong Kong, so Bernard invites him along as his alibi, also hiring a Cordon Bleu-level cook to cater a delicious dinner. But when Jacqueline realizes Robert is coming for a visit everything changes, and the high speed farce begins—one impossible situation leads to another! Written by Marc Camoletti, and adapted by Robin Hawdon, this comedy is published by Samuel French Inc.

John Hogan, a veteran from Valdese, is Artistic Director of this production with Todd Raby returning as Technical Director. The cast of miscreants include Marshall Goff, our misbehaving husband Bernard and his wife, Jacqueline, played by Christy Branch. Their best friend, Robert, who drops by for a visit is played by George Stamatoukos. Added in is Lori Franklin, as Suzanne - Bernard’s mistress. To add the spice is Suzette, the Cordon Blue chef and her husband George. They are played by Chrystal Hass and Thurman Roe. Caleb Sigmon is the Light and Sound designer and Adrian Smith is the Stage Manager.

Show dates are February 19-21 & 26-28, 2010. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8:00pm with Sunday matinees beginning at 3:00pm. The Box Office opens 1 hour before each show. Foothills Performing Arts holds Auditions

Foothills Performing Arts will hold open auditions for “Dairy Queen Days” on Monday and Tuesday, March 8 & 9, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.  Parts are available for 3 adult men and 3 women (ages 15 - 60 years).  This is the story of sixteen-year-old Trout Moseley who discovers the weight his family name carries when he returns to the Georgia mill town founded by his great-grandfather. There Trout's father, Joe Pike Moseley a Methodist minister whose wife has been hospitalized for depression, struggles to regain his faith while Trout reacquaints himself with a colorful assortment of relatives. Trout takes refuge in a job at the local Dairy Queen, and becomes involved with an angry, young woman whose bitter father is trying to unionize the mill workers. Mr. Robert Inman tells this story with humor, compassion and a sense of baffling sadness at the ways relationships can go wrong.  This production is fictional and published by Dramatic Publishing.  It is based on the novel “Dairy Queen Days” written also by Mr. Robert Inman.
